THE SILENT PATIENT

 THE SILENT PATIENT

ABOUT: The Silent Patient is a 2019 psychological thriller written by British Cypriot author Alex Michaelides. The successful debut novel was published by Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan Publishers on 5 February 2019.

PLOT:  Alicia Berenson's life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London's most desirable areas. One evening her husband Gabriel returns home late from a fashion shoot and Alicia shoots him 5 times in the face and then never speaks another word. Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has waited a long time for the opportunity to work with Alicia. His determination to get her to talk and unravel the mystery of why she shot her husband takes him down a twisting path into his own motivations- a search for the truth that threatens to consume him...

REVIEW:  The Silent Patient is a captivating suspense novel that left me second-guessing until the last chapter. The storyline is skillfully written, full of unexpected surprises and curveballs that keep the reader on their toes, while the characters have complexities beyond measure. Michealides offers us an insightful read that
leaves little to be desired in terms of emotions and thrills. Overall,  I highly recommend 'The Silent Patient' to anyone looking for a page-turning thriller that will keep them guessing until the very end. The story is both suspenseful and thought-provoking. This is the one book that will stay with me for a long time and I look forward to reading more of Alex Michealides's work in the future.
