THE SPANISH LOVE DECEPTION

THE SPANISH LOVE DECEPTION

ABOUT:  The Spanish Love Deception is Elena Aramas's debut novel, independently published in February 2021. After becoming popular on TikTok, the book was picked up by Simon & Schuster with an audiobook being released in November 2021. Atria Books published a paperback version of the book on February 1, 2022.

PLOT:  Catalina Martin desperately needs a date for her sister's wedding. Especially since her little white lie about her American boyfriend has spiraled out of control. Now everyone she knows- including her ex and his fiancee- will be there and eager to meet him. She has only 4 weeks to find someone willing to cross the Atlantic and aid her in this deception. New York to Spain is no short flight and her raucous family won't be easy to fool. Enter Aaron Blackford- her tall, handsome, condescending colleague- who surprisingly offers to step in. Shed rather refuse because there never has been a more aggravating, blood-boiling, and insufferable man. But Catalina is desperate and as the wedding draws nearer,  Aaron looks like her best option and she begins to realize he might not be as terrible in the real world as he is at the office.

REVIEW:  This book has my heart. My entire heart. The way the author has unfolded every part of the story with a lovely delicacy makes me want to indulge in their lives wholly. I can't put into words how much I love the character of Aaron. and Catalina, of course. This book has probably the best enemies-to-lovers troupe that I've ever read. And the romance gave me butterflies. Their love is so pure that every rom-com reader will adore it. I absolutely loved the protagonists and this book should be at the top of every 'must-read rom-coms' list.
